My husband has been seeking God's purpose for his life while walking with Christ and undergoing a personal transformation. Then, I had a dream about discussing John 15 with him. I didn’t even know the specific verses in John 15 at the time, I just dreamt about it and didn’t look too deep into it. A few days later, I was simply flipping through my Bible when a verse caught my attention. I didn’t initially note which book it was from while reading the verse, but I felt moved by it and decided to write a prayer based on it, thinking that every Christian should understand why they are following Christ.

When I opened my phone to jot down the verse, I realized it was John 15:16. After writing the prayer I felt every Christian should read, I shared it with my husband, who reminded me that just a few days earlier, I had dreamed about this very verse.

Everything about God and our Christian walk is filled with meaning, purpose, and spiritual significance. God has revealed our purpose as Christians through John 15:16. Just as Daniel was chosen to serve under King Nebuchadnezzar II of Babylon, we too are placed exactly where we are to embrace our calling. Daniel worked under the king, but he served God faithfully, praying daily and bearing fruit for God when the time was right.

I pray that as you read this prayer, it brings light and insight into your life.

John 15:16: “You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you”.

PRAYER in relation to John 15:16:

Dear Heavenly Father, I realize now, through Your Word in John 15:16, that I am here and I am Christian because You actually chose me, not because of anything I’ve done or haven’t done. I will never be here if it weren’t for You.

I give You all the glory and I Thank You for choosing me. I am honored by Your calling and purpose for my life, and I’m grateful that You’ve appointed me and ordained me to bear Your fruit. In Choosing me You have given me a massive gift and a blessed life that I am forever grateful for because Proverbs 3:13-18 says that Your wisdom brings happiness, peace and good health. Therefore I feel honoured to be chosen by you and gifted with Your love, peace, happiness and good health as I follow and do You word and bear Your fruit.

Today again I confess that Jesus Christ is my Lord and saviour, I believe in His miracles and I know and believe that Jesus Christ has sacrificed His life for us by dying on the cross for our sins and sicknesses, and He has risen from dead to life and gained victory for us.

LORD You’ve promised in John 15:16, You will give me whatever I ask in Jesus' name and You’ve called me to go and bear fruit. So today, I humbly ask You to open my eyes, grant me discernment, wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and all the resources I need to fulfill the purpose You’ve given me to bear Your fruit. Please never let my family and I lack anything, please protect us and keep us from harm and sin, for you are our Shepherd and we believe in You. Please fill us with strength, courage, love, and the Holy Spirit. May Your favor shine upon us day and night. LORD Your Word is a light that guides our steps, Your Word directs us even when we don’t fully realize it. As I study Your Word, open my eyes, help me understand it deeply and apply it wisely in my daily life as I interact with people and do my work daily. And let people realize that it is Your wisdom in me, and come to realize that it is You who provides, protect and guides me and my family. LORD as I read Your word, Help me share the good news at the right time with the right people that You send to me, for your word says don’t throw pearls to pigs. LORD Guide me into understanding your fruit, teach me how to bear Your fruit and let me bear it, and glorify You for the fruit, for it is the purpose you have given me according to John 15:16. LORD Help me to be merciful and love those who are hard to love, help me to be righteous and not self-righteous.

Heavenly Father I know with You all things are possible because You say that it is done not by might, not by power but by Your Spirit. Holy Spirit please never leave me and continue to guide my family and I daily. LORD May the fruit You’ve called me to bear remain always, and glorify YOUR name. Thank You God for answering this prayer; I pray this in Jesus' mighty name. Amen.

Inspiring Verses:

Matthew 5:14-16

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

John 8:12

Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Matthew 5:16

In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

Mark 5:19

And he did not permit him but said to him, “Go home to your friends and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.”

Mark 16:15

And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.

Luke 4:43

But he [Jesus] said to them, “I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns as well; for I was sent for this purpose.”

Romans 10:14-15

And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, 'How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!'

God bless You, Thank you for reading
