2 Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever. Amen.

God designed us to grow; the word "farming" appears throughout the Bible, as do planting seeds, growth, and harvest, because God intended for us to grow from tiny seeds into individuals of stature and wisdom. This means we can't keep performing the same old "rituals" or thinking the same old ways as our grandparents or predecessors did. We are to follow Christ and His ways, as we have entered a fresh, new era with Him. God says He is doing a "new" thing, and we must adapt—changing our thinking, behavior, and actions—to follow Christ wholeheartedly.

Growth mindset is required to lead

We cannot lead people of different personality traits, different strengths, and different backgrounds with a fixed mindset. Like Moses, Joseph, Abraham, and other biblical leaders, we have children to raise in the right way and sheep to tend - all of which come from different backgrounds. God has given us the responsibility to lead people, be the light, make disciples, and preach the gospel. However, we cannot fulfil this responsibility with an antiquated mindset; instead, we must cultivate a Christ-like mindset. I am aware of people who raise their children similar to how their parents raised them during that era, since they are adamant that this approach succeeded for them and will continue to work for their kids as well, but this type of thinking might leave the child emotionally distressed. I am an introvert raised amid extremely loud extrovert relatives that dominated. Back then, extroverts were thought to be much more savvy, leaving me with little chance of succeeding in that environment due to my God-given temperament and inclination for harmony. As Christians, we must aim to break all these generational curses which prevent a growth mindset.

Fixed mindset is dangerous

Believing and trusting in your own way of thinking is not being open to wisdom; it is a fixed mindset. According to a research study, those with a growth mentality accept difficulties, respond with competence, and sustain self-esteem, primarily because failure is attributed to a lack of effort rather than a lack of intellectual ability. Therefore, a person's fixed mindset might be hindering their ability to move forward or think creatively. In order to stop the fixed mindset, we must be open to learning from others, always brainstorm with your team, your family, and your friends, listen to everyone's ideas, opinions, and thoughts, and never let it be one-sided or "your-sided." A family is a team; your friends are a team; your classmates are a team, and your co-workers are a team all striving for the same goal.

Growth Mindset makes us resilient

When we develop a growth mindset, we will understand how to respond to life's difficulties, knowing that we will encounter problems along our journey, but we can be certain that we will triumph over them through faith in Christ. People who believe in God have the endurance and strength needed to persevere in the race, which is required to succeed.

Cultivating a Growth Mindset

If you are feeling stagnant, it could be a matter of "mindset". By simply changing the way you think about people and situations, you can transform your life - think about your purpose in ministry. You have the ability to grow and change your entire life by gaining biblical wisdom and then imparting that wisdom to others—as God intended for us to do. Part of cultivating a growth mindset involves studying the Bible with an open mind. While the Word of God may not always seem relevant, it is powerful and can change your life, often in ways you don't realize - it is transformational. We must completely surrender our lives to God and strive to change every detail of the way we behave, live, and think—this begins by reading and meditating on the Word of God. A growth mindset is crucial because, as believers in Christ, we are no longer bound by our old ways due to His life, death, burial, and resurrection.

A "spiritual" growth mindset acknowledges that we are new beings in Christ and that God Himself ordained growth and change. People can also start cultivating a growth mindset by living in the fruit of the Spirit and being attentive to the Holy Spirit's voice; however, it requires humility and unconditional, unbiased love. Fear, anger, pride, arrogance, stubbornness, and biased distorts your thinking hindering you from gaining wisdom. Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Reflect and re-evaluate values and thinking

We need to periodically pause, reflect, and re-evaluate our current values, beliefs, traditions, and ways of thinking, and ask ourselves: are we following our own beliefs or our grandparents or best friends beliefs, all of which might be sabotaging us, or are we following and believing in Christ, and are our values biblical or based on the way we were raised to think and behave?

God Bless you
