An important message is conveyed in the Bible verses 4 John 4:1–42
A Samaritan woman encounters Christ at the water well. He asks her for a drink of water, to which she responds, "How is it that you, a Jew, are asking me, a Samaritan woman, for a drink?" Jews have no relationship with Samaritans.
Christ replies, "If you understood the gift of God and who asks you, "Give Me a drink," you would have asked for living water, and He would have given it to you."
Christ and the Samaritan woman continued having an intriguing conversation. He informed her that he was aware of her five husbands, revealing that she had a spiritual void that no man could fill. Christ proceeds to tell her that He is the Messiah and that serving Him will bring her satisfaction. (John 4:14)
Christ Love and Respect towards women
During a time when women were seen as insignificant, however right there, Christ began changing the course of history for the way women were perceived and treated.
Christ demonstrated profound God-fearing respect, love, and care for her. He understood that she felt empty, and he explains that people are not able to fill the void in hear heart the way God can. A genuine relationship with God will complete her.
The narrative emphasizes that our mental and physical health needs, and the quality of our lives on earth are significant to God.
Christ came to give us an abundant life here on earth. (John 10:10). Christ is at hand, it is up to us to respond and also to show Him hospitality, as the Samaritan woman did.
Be careful not to confuse lust with desires
It seems as if the Samaritan woman was unable to get the love and care she expected from men. I am not referring to sexual desires, but rather to emotional or financial security. Psalm 37:4 says, "Delight yourself also in the LORD, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.".
The fascinating discussion between Christ and the Samaritan woman shows how a consistent relationship with Jesus Christ leads us to the truth and transforms our lives. She could have walked away from Christ and gone on with life together with the void in her heart, but she not only did she converse with Him, she also gave Him water to drink. In the same way, our relationship with God is both ways, it is all about love and a relationship.
If we begin a relationship with God, we will learn and understand how to love ourselves; this was something the Samaritan women only discovered after meeting Christ.
Journey with Christ
As we journey with Christ, the Holy Spirit will begin to convict us and lead us into a life of abundance right here on earth! We need to be conscious of God throughout because He will answer our questions through life's daily experiences.
Our purpose
Worshiping God is the main purpose of our existence, and a significant part of our relationship with Christ; if you are not worshiping God, you are most likely worshiping something that is not fulfilling your Spirit. John 4:21-24
Maintaining a relationship with God
We can maintain a consistent relationship with God through Bible reading, prayer, worship, and we will experience a more fulfilled life knowing that every mental and physical battle is won through Christ our saviour.
God Bless you
