We need grace, we need mercy, we need to repent, we need to be forgiven, we need Jesus Christ because we are imperfect.

Being perfect doesn't mean to be sinless. To be "perfect" means to be "complete". Perfection is not about checking all the boxes, as the rich young ruler did in Matthew 19:16-22. In verse 17 Jesus's response to Him was: "...Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God..." As the verse goes on you will find that the rich ruler was not so perfect after all, as rich as he was, he had a "void", he was "incomplete" because he lacked complete faith in God, he didn't believe that our God is his ultimate provider.
On the contrary in Genesis 22 Abraham was a rich, affluent man too. God asked Abraham to sacrifice his child. Abraham did not withhold God's direct command because he had grown in PERFECT faith. Abraham took a knife to slay his son but God stopped him. When Abraham looked up he saw a ram caught by its horns in a thicket, he took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering in place of his child. This is amazing, due to his faith and trust in God, instantly, God provided the sacrifice to Abraham, as well as everything that Abraham owned. Likewise, God provides everything for you too, including time and money that you might be "sacrificing" for others, it is God's time and money, and He provides it to us in abundance.
It is God's seeds that we plant to harvest. God owns the livestock, the gold, silver, and every precious stone on earth. God is our ultimate provider. We are completely incapable of living life without the daily grace of God.
Unlike rich Abraham, the rich, young ruler failed to surrender to God, his ultimate provider and the Creator of this Heavens and earth. This young man held on to his material possessions which God provided.
In the New Testament, God gives us something better to hold on to, and thats Jesus Christ. God sacrifices His only son for us. When Jesus died on the cross, unlike animal sacrifices, Jesus rose up again, and He gained victory for us.
It is faith and love in Christ that makes us complete, without Jesus Christ, we are sinners, we are i ncomplete and imperfect. With Christ as our Lord and saviour, we are forgiven, we walk in grace, hope, love and faith. Christ died for the entire world but it is up to us to choose Him. John 14:6
Colossians 2:10 and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.
God bless you. Thank you for reading
