A sudden power cut in our region, left us in darkness at home. No stars in sight, the night was dark. The blackout curtains in our bedroom made it much darker.
The darkness made me feel "as blind as a bat", battling to look for my portable solar-powered lamp. I quit the search, resorted to bed. While lying in bed, my husband had the urge to visit the restroom, as he opened the door a thin ray of light from outside, traveled through the bathroom window, into the bedroom. The ray of light filtered through, it slightly illuminated the room but thankfully, it was enough for me to spot my portable solar-powered lamp, on my bedside table. Isn't it amazing, the little light, led me to a bigger source of power.
This small, yet significant incident made me realize that as Christians we need to be confident in Christ. We should confidently have our lamps burning at all times, and always exude the love of God. You might think that sharing the Word of God in just one sentence won't serve any purpose, maybe you didn't experience a "spiritual" feeling after sharing a little Word, yet nothing that is of our almighty God is meaningless! Even the doorkeeper of a church serves a meaningful purpose.
There are many people in life who want to find their way out of sin, but struggle to see the light. Just a little ray of light in a small moment, is all they might need for vision to get out of sin. The Word of God is seed!
As ambassadors of Christ Jesus we are called to be the light. Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
My solar-powered lamp draws its energy from the sun. So, remember, on days when you might be running low on energy and find it hard to be the light, we should draw energy from the Son, Lord Jesus Christ, our ultimate source of light, energy and love.
2 Corinthians 5:20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.
Let's make a little difference everyday, by being a ray of light to lead their way. 🕯️
Thank you for reading, keep your flames burning and the momentum going.
God bless you.
