We are created in the image of who?

We were not made in the image of Satan; rather, we are made in the image of God. He created you for His purpose. But Satan wants to steal your identity.

Psalm 139:14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

When we see our reflection in the mirror, we should see a reflection of God's creation staring back at us. The way we dress, talk, behave, our characteristics, how we see ourselves, and how others see us (both physically and online) basically sums up our entire image.

As Children of God, we should represent our Heavenly Father by choosing our image wisely

  • 2 Timothy 2:15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.

  • Proverbs 14:15: "A simple man believes anything, but a prudent man gives thought to his steps."

We should choose God-fearing friends

  • 2 Corinthians 6:14 Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?

  • 1 Corinthians 7:15-16 “But if the unbeliever leaves, let it be so. The brother or the sister is not bound in such circumstances; God has called us to live in peace.

  • 1 Corinthians 15:33 Do not be deceived: "Bad company corrupts good morals.

Do we present ourselves differently in a church environment and differently when we are at work? We should choose to be Christ like at all times.

  • Hebrews 13:8: Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.

Helpful tips to transform:

SPEAKING:

God is not the only one hearing - the enemy is hearing too! Speak positively, praise God and impress the Lord whenever you speak.

  • 1 Peter 4:11 Whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. Matthew 12:36: But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken.

We are created in the Image of God, so what we speak is powerful, John 1 -5, proves words have power:

  • 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

READING

Reading God's Word daily without fail, begins to transform your thinking, behavior and choices. The Word of God is alive, the only way the Spirit can be seen or heard is through the Word of God.

  • 2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.

  • Hebrews 4:12  For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

WRITING

Write down your dreams, prophecies, convictions, prayers, testimonies as it helps you reflect on what is happening in your life.

  • Revelation 21:5 And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

  • Habakkuk 2:2-3 And the Lord answered me: “Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it. For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.

OBEDIENCE

From the moment you wake up to the moment you go to sleep, remain obedient to God in every area of your life. Think before you act and seek Him first.

  • Proverbs 14:15: "A simple man believes anything, but a prudent man gives thought to his steps."  Matthew 22:36-38: "'Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?' Jesus replied: 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment."

  • John 14:15: "If you love me, you will obey what I command."  Hebrews 4:10: "For anyone who enters God's rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from his."

Grasp that we are created in the image of God and not in the image of satan. We have the choice to portray the image of God by behaving Christ like and knowing that our identity is in Christ.

Christ like behavior boosts your self-esteem, self-confidence, it shows your love for God and showcases self-control which in turn proves and reflects your strength and the power of God in you.

Christ like behavior is empowering.

Christ like behavior will surely make a positive difference in your life and influence the lives of others.

God Bless you!
